There’s a hint of a kitchen so far.

The cabinets are gradually making their debut in our kitchen.  After two weeks of cabinet construction on-site, we have the skeleton of an island bar (made a little bigger for our tall friends), the built-in pantry cabinets (no doors yet) and the home for the refrigerator and appliances.  Every day something has progressed, although this part seems slow since we’re anxious to see it all come together. The granite guy comes on Wednesday to measure, and then we’ll start to see more of the wall cabinets make their appearance.  Lighting needs to be altered a bit, but we’re definitely getting there.

Christmas came early

Christmas came early this year – our cabinets just arrived.  This is a photo of the truck (small semi) when the guys were almost done unloading it.  The whole truck was filled with boxes upon boxes of our kitchen cabinets, straight from Canada.  They endured the long journey, and have finally found a home with us.  We will love them, care for them, and make “oohing and awing”sounds as we enjoy these, our new additions to our family.   Welcome to your new home!  They will be well-taken care of, for certain.  That is, after the installer gets done nailing them to the walls – Ouch!
